Xloqen-SR is a sustained-release formulation of Aceclofenac, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used for the short-term relief of pain, inflammation, and swelling in conditions affecting the joints, muscles, and bones. It is especially helpful in managing chronic conditions like osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis.Aceclofenac works by blocking the production of prostaglandins, which are chemical messengers responsible for causing pain, swelling, and inflammation in the body. The sustained-release form ensures a gradual and extended release of the medicine into the bloodstream, allowing prolonged pain relief with fewer doses per day.
Xloqen-SR is typically prescribed to be taken once or twice daily, preferably after meals, to minimize the risk of gastrointestinal side effects. It helps improve mobility, reduces stiffness, and enhances the ability to perform everyday tasks more comfortably.
Although generally well tolerated, possible side effects may include nausea, acidity, indigestion, dizziness, or in rare cases, stomach ulcers or kidney problems with prolonged use.
