Vefix-DT contains Cefixime 100 mg in a dispersible tablet (DT) form. It is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic used to treat various bacterial infections. It works by inhibiting the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall, which leads to the death of the bacteria and clears the infection.This medicine is commonly prescribed for infections of the lungs (such as bronchitis or pneumonia), throat (such as tonsillitis or pharyngitis), urinary tract, and sometimes ear or sinus infections. The dispersible form makes it easier to administer, especially to children or individuals who have difficulty swallowing pills, as it can be dissolved in water before intake.
Vefix-DT usually starts to show improvement within a few days of use. However, it is important to complete the full course as prescribed, even if symptoms improve early.
