VERdixt-C is a combination cough syrup formulated to relieve symptoms associated with dry cough, throat irritation, allergies, and mucus congestion. It contains four active ingredients: Dextromethorphan 10 mg, Cetirizine 2.5 mg, Guaifenesin 50 mg, and Menthol 1.5 mg per 5 ml.Dextromethorphan is a cough suppressant that works on the brain’s cough center to reduce the urge to cough, making it effective for treating dry or non-productive coughs. Cetirizine is an antihistamine that helps relieve allergic symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, and watery eyes without causing significant drowsiness. Guaifenesin is an expectorant that helps loosen and thin mucus in the airways, making the cough more productive and easier to clear. Menthol provides a cooling and soothing effect on the throat, reducing irritation and making breathing easier.
VERdixt-C is especially useful in treating upper respiratory infections, allergic cough, or cold-related congestion where cough, mild throat irritation, and mucus buildup coexist. It is generally taken 2 to 3 times daily or as directed by a physician.
Common side effects may include mild drowsiness, dry mouth, dizziness, or gastrointestinal discomfort. It should be used with caution in children, and those with liver disease, asthma, or who are on other sedatives. Always follow the dosage prescribed and avoid alcohol while on this medication.
