VASIzef Dry Syrup contains Cefixime 125mg/5ml, a broad-spectrum third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic used for treating a variety of bacterial infections in children. It is effective in eliminating harmful bacteria by interfering with their cell wall synthesis, which is vital for their survival.VASIzef is commonly prescribed to treat infections of the lungs (such as pneumonia and bronchitis), ear (otitis media), throat (tonsillitis and pharyngitis), urinary tract infections (UTIs), as well as abdominal, bone, joint, skin, and soft tissue infections. It is particularly useful in pediatric cases where a liquid formulation is more suitable than tablets.
The syrup should be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually after reconstitution with clean water. It can be taken with or without food, but taking it after meals may reduce stomach upset. Even if your child feels better after a few doses, it's important to complete the full course to prevent the infection from returning and to avoid the development of antibiotic resistance.
