TIVAzol-DSR is a combination medication that contains Domperidone and Rabeprazole, formulated in a sustained-release (SR) capsule for prolonged action. It is commonly prescribed for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), acid reflux, indigestion, heartburn, nausea, vomiting, and other acid-related digestive disorders.Domperidone is a prokinetic agent that enhances the movement of the upper gastrointestinal tract. It works by increasing the contraction of stomach muscles, allowing food to pass more efficiently through the stomach into the intestines. This action helps relieve symptoms such as bloating, nausea, and a feeling of fullness.
Rabeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that suppresses the production of excess stomach acid by blocking the proton pumps in the stomach lining. This helps in the healing of acid-induced inflammation, ulcers, and prevents heartburn and regurgitation.
Together, TIVAzol-DSR offers dual benefits: it reduces stomach acidity and improves gastrointestinal motility, making it ideal for patients who experience both acid reflux and delayed gastric emptying.
It is usually taken once daily before meals, preferably in the morning. Use should be based on a doctor’s prescription, especially for long-term treatment. Common side effects may include dry mouth, headache, dizziness, abdominal cramps, or diarrhea. Regular monitoring may be advised if used over an extended period.
