TIVAzol-20 contains Rabeprazole Sodium 20 mg, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) used to reduce excessive stomach acid production. It is especially beneficial in conditions like Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, a rare disorder characterized by tumors in the pancreas or duodenum that cause the stomach to produce too much acid. This excess acid can lead to multiple, recurring peptic ulcers, resulting in symptoms such as abdominal pain, heartburn, acid reflux, and diarrhea.Rabeprazole works by blocking the enzyme in the stomach lining that produces acid, thereby relieving symptoms and promoting the healing of ulcers. In patients with Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, long-term acid suppression is often required to prevent complications like gastrointestinal bleeding and further ulcer formation.
Besides its use in Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, TIVAzol-20 is also effective in treating gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), erosive esophagitis, and non-ulcer dyspepsia. It is usually taken once daily before meals and should be used under medical supervision for optimal results.
