TEEPTAN-40 contains Telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) used primarily to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). By blocking the action of angiotensin II—a chemical in the body that causes blood vessels to tighten—Telmisartan helps relax and widen the blood vessels, allowing blood to flow more freely. This results in a reduction in blood pressure and lowers the strain on the heart, helping it to pump more efficiently.Controlling high blood pressure is essential to prevent serious health problems such as heart attacks, strokes, and kidney damage. TEEPTAN-40 is often prescribed as a first-line or add-on therapy in individuals with mild to moderate hypertension and may also be useful in patients with cardiovascular risk factors.
The tablet is typically taken once daily, with or without food. Its long-acting nature allows for effective 24-hour blood pressure control. It is well tolerated in most patients but may cause side effects like dizziness, fatigue, or increased potassium levels in some cases.
