Scliv-100-DT contains Cefpodoxime Proxetil 100 mg, a broad-spectrum cephalosporin antibiotic formulated in a dispersible tablet (DT) form for convenient administration, especially in pediatric and geriatric patients. It is used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections, including those affecting the respiratory tract (such as pneumonia and bronchitis), urinary tract, skin, ear (otitis media), abdomen, bones, joints, blood, and even the brain (meningitis).Cefpodoxime works by inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial cell walls, leading to the destruction of the bacteria. It is effective against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative pathogens. The dispersible form allows for rapid dissolution in water, making it easier to swallow and ideal for patients with difficulty taking solid tablets.
