Sanitine-16 contains Betahistine, a histamine analog used primarily to treat symptoms associated with Ménière's disease—a condition affecting the inner ear. Symptoms of Ménière’s disease include vertigo (spinning sensation), tinnitus (ringing in the ears), hearing loss, and a feeling of fullness or pressure in the ear.Betahistine works by improving blood circulation in the inner ear, which helps to reduce the pressure caused by excess fluid (endolymph). By enhancing microcirculation in the labyrinth and cochlea, it helps regulate the pressure balance, thereby alleviating vertigo and other symptoms. Additionally, Betahistine acts on histamine receptors in the central nervous system to dampen abnormal nerve signals sent from the inner ear to the brain, which further helps reduce dizziness and nausea.
Sanitine-16 is usually taken two to three times daily, with or without food. Consistent use is important, as maximum benefit may take several weeks to appear. It is generally well-tolerated, but mild side effects like headache, stomach discomfort, or nausea can occur in some patients.
