SILpraz-DSR is a combination medicine containing Domperidone and Esomeprazole, used for the treatment of acid-related gastrointestinal disorders such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), acid reflux, heartburn, indigestion, and functional dyspepsia. The dual action of this formulation targets both acid control and improved gastric motility, offering comprehensive relief from digestive discomfort.Domperidone is a prokinetic agent that enhances the movement of the stomach and intestines, helping food move smoothly through the digestive tract. It reduces symptoms like nausea, bloating, a feeling of fullness, and prevents the backward flow of stomach contents into the food pipe (reflux).
Esomeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI), reduces the production of stomach acid by blocking the proton pumps in the gastric lining. This helps in healing acid-related damage to the esophagus and stomach, relieving symptoms such as burning sensation, sour taste, and acid regurgitation.
SILpraz-DSR is usually taken once daily, preferably on an empty stomach before breakfast. The sustained-release formulation ensures long-lasting action throughout the day.
Common side effects may include headache, dry mouth, dizziness, abdominal pain, or constipation. Long-term use should be monitored by a doctor to avoid potential issues like vitamin B12 deficiency, low magnesium levels, or hormonal side effects.
