SILpraz 40 mg Injection is an intravenous formulation of Esomeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) used to reduce the production of stomach acid in conditions where oral administration is not possible. It is commonly used for the short-term treatment of acid-related disorders such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcer disease, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and for the prevention of rebleeding after endoscopic treatment of gastric or duodenal ulcers.Esomeprazole works by inhibiting the H⁺/K⁺-ATPase enzyme system (also known as the gastric proton pump) in the stomach lining, which is responsible for the final step of acid production.
