SILpan is an injectable formulation containing Pantoprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) used to treat conditions caused by excessive stomach acid. It is especially effective in managing serious acid-related disorders such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome—a rare condition marked by excessive gastric acid secretion, which leads to multiple, recurring peptic ulcers.Pantoprazole works by irreversibly blocking the H⁺/K⁺-ATPase enzyme (acid pump) in the stomach lining, thereby significantly reducing acid production. This reduction in acid helps relieve symptoms such as abdominal pain, heartburn, acid reflux, and diarrhea commonly seen in Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and other severe acid disorders. It also aids in healing existing ulcers and prevents complications like gastrointestinal bleeding, perforation, or chronic inflammation.
