SILOmep-D is a combination medicine used to treat acid reflux, heartburn, indigestion, and other digestive disorders associated with excessive stomach acid and poor gastrointestinal motility. It contains two active ingredients: Domperidone, a prokinetic agent, and Omeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI).Domperidone works by enhancing the movement of the stomach and intestines. It increases the contractions of the upper digestive tract, helping food pass through the stomach more efficiently and preventing the backward flow of stomach contents into the esophagus. This action helps relieve symptoms like nausea, bloating, and a feeling of fullness.
Omeprazole reduces the amount of acid produced in the stomach by blocking the acid-secreting proton pumps in the gastric lining. This helps heal acid-induced irritation in the stomach and esophagus, and provides effective relief from heartburn, acid regurgitation, and related symptoms.
SILOmep-D is typically taken before meals, once daily, or as prescribed by a healthcare provider. It is especially helpful in conditions like GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease), functional dyspepsia, and gastritis. While it is well tolerated by most individuals, some may experience side effects such as dry mouth, headache, dizziness, or mild abdominal discomfort.
