SILOmep is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) containing 20 mg of Omeprazole, used to reduce excess stomach acid. It is commonly prescribed for conditions such as acid reflux (GERD), peptic ulcers, gastritis, heartburn, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. By blocking the acid-producing enzyme (H⁺/K⁺-ATPase) in the stomach lining, Omeprazole effectively reduces acidity, promotes healing, and provides relief from discomfort and burning sensation.SILOmep is typically taken once daily, preferably in the morning, 30 to 60 minutes before a meal. Its delayed-release formulation ensures that the medicine reaches the intestine before dissolving, where it can be absorbed and start working effectively. Patients often experience noticeable relief within a few days, though full healing may take 1 to 4 weeks depending on the condition.
