SELLUxy-CLAV-LB-625 is a broad-spectrum antibiotic formulation containing Amoxycillin 500 mg, Clavulanic Acid 125 mg, and Lactic Acid Bacillus 60 million spores. It is used to treat various bacterial infections, including those affecting the respiratory tract, urinary tract, skin, ear, and soft tissues. Amoxycillin is a penicillin-type antibiotic that works by inhibiting the formation of bacterial cell walls, leading to the death of susceptible bacteria. However, some bacteria produce an enzyme called beta-lactamase, which can destroy amoxycillin. Clavulanic acid, a beta-lactamase inhibitor, overcomes this resistance by neutralizing the enzyme, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of amoxycillin against resistant strains.The addition of Lactic Acid Bacillus helps to maintain and restore the normal balance of intestinal bacteria, which can be disrupted by antibiotic use. This probiotic reduces the risk of diarrhea and other gastrointestinal disturbances that commonly occur with antibiotic therapy, making the treatment more tolerable and safe.
