RIFCOTIN-20 contains Teneligliptin, an effective oral antidiabetic medication belonging to the class of DPP-4 inhibitors (Dipeptidyl Peptidase-4 inhibitors). It is primarily used in the management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. Teneligliptin helps control blood sugar levels by enhancing the action of incretin hormones, which in turn stimulate insulin secretion from the pancreas in response to meals and suppress the release of glucagon, a hormone that increases blood sugar.This dual mechanism helps in significantly reducing both fasting and postprandial (after meal) glucose levels, thereby improving overall glycemic control. RIFCOTIN-20 is particularly useful as a monotherapy in newly diagnosed patients or can be combined with other antidiabetic agents like Metformin, Sulfonylureas, or Insulin for better efficacy.
