REGperi contains Omeprazole 20 mg, a widely used medication from the proton pump inhibitor (PPI) class, designed to reduce the amount of acid produced in the stomach. It is commonly prescribed for the treatment of acid-related disorders such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), gastritis, peptic ulcers, heartburn, and for preventing ulcers caused by NSAIDs or infection with Helicobacter pylori.Omeprazole works by blocking the proton pumps in the stomach lining, which are responsible for secreting gastric acid. By inhibiting these pumps, it significantly lowers acid levels, promoting healing of the esophagus and stomach lining and preventing further damage.
