PEPnil-CP is a combination medicine containing Cinitapride and Pantoprazole, used primarily for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcer disease, and other acid-related disorders. This dual-action formula targets both acid suppression and gut motility, offering comprehensive relief from symptoms such as heartburn, acid reflux, bloating, nausea, and abdominal discomfort.Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that works by blocking the acid-producing pumps in the stomach lining, thereby reducing the amount of acid in the stomach. This helps heal acid-induced damage to the stomach and esophagus and prevents ulcers from forming.
Cinitapride is a prokinetic agent that enhances the movement of food through the stomach and intestines. It works by increasing the release of acetylcholine, a natural chemical that stimulates gut motility, helping prevent reflux and reducing feelings of fullness, bloating, or nausea.
Taken together, Pantoprazole and Cinitapride complement each other—Pantoprazole controls excess acid while Cinitapride improves gastric emptying. PEPnil-CP is usually taken before meals, as advised by a physician. Regular use under medical supervision can improve quality of life in patients with chronic indigestion, acid reflux, and gastric discomfort.
