PEPneto-20 contains Pantoprazole 20 mg, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) used to treat acid-related stomach and esophageal conditions such as heartburn, acid reflux (GERD), and peptic ulcers. Pantoprazole works by blocking the enzyme in the stomach wall that produces acid, thereby reducing stomach acid levels. This helps relieve symptoms such as burning pain, discomfort, and acid regurgitation.Conditions like acid reflux occur when the lower esophageal sphincter, a muscle at the end of your esophagus, becomes weak or relaxes at the wrong time. This allows acid to flow back into the esophagus, causing a burning sensation in the chest and throat. By reducing acid production, PEPneto-20 prevents irritation and allows healing of the esophagus lining.
For best results, the tablet should be taken before meals, usually in the morning. It is important to complete the prescribed course, even if symptoms improve early, to prevent recurrence.
In addition to medication, adopting lifestyle changes such as avoiding spicy and fatty foods, eating smaller meals, not lying down soon after eating, and maintaining a healthy weight can significantly improve treatment outcomes.
