PANTOLEX-LS is a combination medicine containing Levosulpiride and Pantoprazole, commonly used for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), indigestion, gastritis, and peptic ulcers. This formulation provides dual-action relief by addressing both impaired gut motility and excess stomach acid.Levosulpiride is a prokinetic agent that enhances the motility of the gastrointestinal tract. It works by increasing the release of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter that stimulates smooth muscle contraction in the digestive tract. This helps improve the movement of food through the stomach and intestines and prevents the backward flow of acid into the esophagus, which causes heartburn and reflux.
Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that significantly reduces acid production in the stomach. By lowering the acid levels, it relieves symptoms such as heartburn, acid reflux, and indigestion, while also promoting the healing of ulcers and preventing acid-related damage to the lining of the stomach and esophagus.
