PANTOLEX-ITO is a combination medication that contains Pantoprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI), and Itopride, a prokinetic agent. This dual-action formulation is designed to effectively manage and relieve symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), acid reflux, indigestion, bloating, nausea, and delayed gastric emptying.Pantoprazole works by blocking the proton pumps in the stomach lining that produce gastric acid. By reducing acid secretion, it helps in the healing of acid-related damage to the stomach and esophagus, and provides long-lasting relief from heartburn, acidity, and peptic ulcers.
Itopride complements this action by enhancing gastrointestinal motility. It increases the movement of the stomach and intestines, facilitating faster passage of food and preventing issues like gastric stasis, bloating, and early satiety. It also acts on the brain’s vomiting center to help control nausea and vomiting.
PANTOLEX-ITO should be taken before meals as prescribed by your physician. It is generally well tolerated, but some users may experience mild side effects such as headache, abdominal discomfort, or diarrhea.
