PANTOLEX contains Pantoprazole, a widely used medication classified as a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). It is primarily prescribed to reduce excessive acid production in the stomach and is effective in treating a range of acid-related conditions.Pantoprazole works by blocking the proton pumps in the stomach lining that are responsible for secreting gastric acid. By inhibiting this acid secretion, Pantolex provides relief from symptoms like heartburn, acid reflux, indigestion, and gastritis. It is also commonly used in the treatment and prevention of peptic ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and erosive esophagitis.
The reduction in stomach acid not only helps relieve discomfort but also promotes healing of the esophagus and stomach lining. Pantolex is typically taken once daily before meals, and it starts working within a few hours, although full benefits may take a few days.
