LETIX C is a powerful broad-spectrum antibiotic combination containing Cefixime and Clavulanic Acid, used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections. This formulation is especially effective in treating infections of the respiratory tract (such as bronchitis, sinusitis, and pneumonia), urinary tract, ear, throat, and skin.Cefixime is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic that works by inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial cell walls, ultimately killing the bacteria. However, some bacteria produce an enzyme called beta-lactamase which can break down antibiotics like Cefixime and make them ineffective. This is where Clavulanic Acid comes in — it is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that neutralizes these enzymes, thereby restoring and enhancing the effectiveness of Cefixime against resistant bacteria.
LETIX C is typically prescribed when a stronger, resistance-targeted antibiotic is needed. It provides rapid relief from symptoms such as fever, sore throat, pain, cough, or urinary discomfort caused by bacterial infections.
