JEPrab-I contains Rabeprazole 20mg in injectable form and is used for the rapid management of acid-related gastrointestinal conditions. It belongs to the class of medications known as proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), which work by blocking the enzyme responsible for acid production in the stomach. This reduction in gastric acid helps in relieving symptoms like heartburn, indigestion, bloating, and upper abdominal pain, and promotes the healing of damaged stomach lining in cases of peptic ulcers or GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease).In GERD, stomach acid frequently flows back into the esophagus, causing chronic discomfort. Rabeprazole injection helps by significantly lowering acid secretion, thereby reducing irritation and allowing the esophagus to heal. It is especially beneficial in acute care settings or for patients unable to take oral medication.
