JEPrax Injection contains Piroxicam 20 mg, a long-acting non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used for the management of moderate to severe pain and inflammation. It is particularly effective in treating conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and postoperative pain, where swelling, stiffness, and joint or muscle discomfort are present.Piroxicam works by blocking the action of enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2) responsible for the production of prostaglandins—chemical messengers involved in inflammation and pain signaling. By reducing prostaglandin levels, JEPrax Injection helps relieve symptoms like joint pain, tenderness, swelling, and stiffness, thereby improving mobility and quality of life.
This medicine is administered via intramuscular injection by a healthcare professional, usually when oral administration is not possible or when faster relief is needed. It should always be given under medical supervision.
Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, headache, and dizziness. In some cases, gastrointestinal bleeding or ulcers may occur, especially with prolonged use or in patients with a history of digestive tract issues.
