JEPrab-20 contains Rabeprazole Sodium 20mg, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that effectively reduces the production of stomach acid. It is commonly prescribed for conditions related to excessive acid secretion, including Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome, a rare disorder characterized by the formation of gastrin-secreting tumors (gastrinomas) which cause the stomach to produce too much acid. This excess acid can lead to multiple, severe peptic ulcers, resulting in symptoms like abdominal pain, diarrhea, acid reflux, and heartburn.Rabeprazole works by blocking the enzyme in the stomach wall responsible for acid production, thereby providing relief from pain and discomfort. It also promotes the healing of ulcers and prevents further damage to the stomach and intestinal lining.
