IFYtrofin-IT-100 is a combination antifungal tablet that contains Terbinafine Hydrochloride equivalent to Terbinafine 250 mg and Itraconazole 100 mg. This dual therapy is designed to treat a wide range of stubborn and resistant fungal infections of the skin, nails, and mucous membranes, especially when single-drug treatment is ineffective.Terbinafine is an allylamine antifungal that works by inhibiting the enzyme squalene epoxidase, leading to a deficiency of ergosterol—an essential component of fungal cell membranes. This disruption results in the death of the fungus. Itraconazole, an azole antifungal, also targets the synthesis of ergosterol but through a different pathway by inhibiting lanosterol 14-alpha-demethylase. Together, these drugs provide a broader and more potent antifungal action.
IFYtrofin-IT-100 is highly effective in treating conditions such as tinea corporis (ringworm), tinea cruris (jock itch), tinea pedis (athlete's foot), onychomycosis (nail fungus), and other dermatophytic infections, particularly those that are recurrent or chronic.
This medicine should be taken exactly as prescribed by a healthcare professional, usually with food to improve absorption. Common side effects may include nausea, headache, abdominal discomfort, and in rare cases, liver enzyme elevations. Liver function monitoring is advised during prolonged use. Avoid alcohol and consult your doctor before use in pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
