DOMOL-LS is a combination medication containing Levosulpiride and Rabeprazole, specially formulated to treat a range of gastrointestinal disorders such as acid reflux (GERD), functional dyspepsia, indigestion, bloating, and gastric ulcers. This dual-action therapy addresses both excess stomach acid and delayed gastric motility, providing comprehensive relief from upper digestive tract discomfort.Levosulpiride is a prokinetic agent that enhances the movement of the stomach and intestines by increasing the release of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter that stimulates smooth muscle activity. It helps in treating symptoms like nausea, bloating, early satiety, and reflux by improving gastric emptying and reducing backward flow of stomach contents into the esophagus.
Rabeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that reduces stomach acid production by blocking the H⁺/K⁺ ATPase enzyme system in the gastric lining. This action allows for healing of acid-related damage, relief from heartburn, and prevention of peptic ulcers.
DOMOL-LS is typically taken before meals for maximum effectiveness. While generally well-tolerated, potential side effects may include drowsiness, dizziness, headache, diarrhea, or hormonal changes with long-term use.
