DOMOL-CP is a combination medication designed to provide relief from gastrointestinal disorders, particularly those related to acid reflux, nausea, bloating, and indigestion. It typically combines a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) like Rabeprazole with a prokinetic agent such as Levosulpiride or Domperidone, which enhances stomach motility and reduces symptoms of gastric stasis.This dual-action formula helps in reducing excessive stomach acid and improving gastric emptying, making it highly effective for conditions like gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), dyspepsia, bloating, nausea, and chronic gastritis. Rabeprazole suppresses acid secretion, promoting healing of gastric and esophageal lining, while the prokinetic agent stimulates smooth muscle contractions, ensuring faster movement of food through the stomach.
Common side effects of DOMOL-CP may include diarrhea, flatulence, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, headache, dizziness, and drowsiness. Hormonal side effects such as breast enlargement in males (gynecomastia), absence of menstrual periods, galactorrhea (unexpected milk production), and altered libido can occur with prolonged use of prokinetic agents due to their effect on dopamine pathways.
