DIVITEL-40H is a combination tablet containing Telmisartan (40 mg) and Hydrochlorothiazide (12.5 mg), used for the effective management of high blood pressure (hypertension). This dual-action formula works synergistically to help control blood pressure in patients who do not achieve desired results with a single medication alone, thereby reducing the risk of heart attacks, strokes, and kidney problems.Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that works by relaxing blood vessels, preventing them from narrowing due to the action of angiotensin II, a chemical that causes blood vessels to tighten. This relaxation allows for smoother blood flow and reduces strain on the heart.
Hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic (commonly known as a water pill) that helps the body eliminate excess sodium and water through urine, reducing blood volume and further lowering blood pressure. This also helps reduce swelling (edema) in certain conditions.
DIVITEL-40H should be taken once daily, ideally at the same time each day, with or without food. Patients should maintain adequate fluid intake and avoid excessive salt consumption. Common side effects include dizziness, increased urination, low potassium levels, and occasional muscle cramps. Regular monitoring of blood pressure, kidney function, and electrolyte levels is advised during treatment.
