DENpod-O is a powerful antibiotic combination containing Cefpodoxime Proxetil and Ofloxacin, used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections. This combination targets respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, gastrointestinal infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and some sexually transmitted infections.Cefpodoxime Proxetil is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic that interferes with the bacterial cell wall synthesis, ultimately causing the bacteria to rupture and die. It is especially effective against gram-positive and some gram-negative bacteria. Ofloxacin belongs to the fluoroquinolone class of antibiotics and works by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase, preventing bacterial replication and repair, making it effective against a broad spectrum of bacteria.
By combining these two agents, DENpod-O provides a synergistic effect that enhances antibacterial coverage and effectiveness. This dual-action approach is particularly useful in treating mixed infections or infections caused by resistant bacteria.
