ANDYMOX-400 contains Moxifloxacin 400 mg, which is a broad-spectrum antibiotic belonging to the fluoroquinolone class. It is used to treat various bacterial infections affecting the lungs, sinuses, skin, and soft tissues, and is also effective in some intra-abdominal and gynecological infections. Moxifloxacin works by inhibiting bacterial enzymes—DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV—which are essential for bacterial DNA replication, repair, and cell division. By interfering with these enzymes, Moxifloxacin stops the multiplication and spread of bacteria, effectively clearing the infection.ANDYMOX-400 is especially beneficial in treating community-acquired pneumonia, chronic bronchitis exacerbations, sinusitis, and certain skin infections. Its once-daily dosing makes it convenient and improves patient compliance.
This medicine usually shows rapid improvement in symptoms such as fever, pain, and inflammation, often within the first few doses. However, it is important to complete the full course as prescribed, even if symptoms subside early. Stopping treatment prematurely can lead to incomplete eradication of bacteria and may contribute to antibiotic resistance.
It should be taken with or without food, but preferably at the same time each day. Avoid taking it with antacids, multivitamins, or dairy products close to the time of administration, as these can interfere with absorption. Always use under medical supervision.
