AFYmox-CLAV 375 is a broad-spectrum antibiotic used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections. It combines Amoxicillin, a penicillin-type antibiotic, with Clavulanic Acid, a beta-lactamase inhibitor. This combination enhances the effectiveness of Amoxicillin by preventing certain bacteria from becoming resistant to it.AFYmox-CLAV 375 is highly effective in treating infections of the respiratory tract (such as bronchitis, sinusitis, and pneumonia), urinary tract, skin and soft tissues, ears, and dental infections. It works by killing bacteria and stopping their growth, helping to relieve symptoms like fever, inflammation, pain, and pus formation.
The tablet is usually taken orally every 8 or 12 hours, depending on the severity of the infection and as prescribed by a doctor. It should be taken with food to enhance absorption and reduce stomach upset.
Common side effects include nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and skin rash. Serious allergic reactions are rare but can occur, especially in patients with a history of penicillin allergy. AFYmox-CLAV 375 should only be used under medical supervision and is not effective against viral infections like the common cold or flu. Completing the full course is important to prevent resistance.
