AFEsan-P is a combination medicine that contains Aceclofenac and Paracetamol, used primarily to relieve pain and inflammation associated with various musculoskeletal and joint disorders. This combination is effective in treating conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, dental pain, and muscle sprains or strains.Aceclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that works by inhibiting the enzyme cyclooxygenase (COX), which plays a key role in the formation of prostaglandins—chemical messengers involved in pain, inflammation, and swelling. By reducing prostaglandin production, Aceclofenac helps relieve inflammation and improve mobility.
Paracetamol (also known as acetaminophen) complements the effect of Aceclofenac by acting as an antipyretic (fever reducer) and analgesic (pain reliever). It works centrally in the brain to block the transmission of pain signals and regulate body temperature during fever.
When used together, these two medications provide faster and more effective relief than either alone. AFEsan-P is generally well-tolerated when taken as prescribed. It is advisable to take the medication with food to reduce the risk of stomach upset. However, prolonged or excessive use should be avoided, as it may affect the liver or kidneys.
