ADPAX KID D.T is a pediatric formulation that contains Amoxycillin 200 mg and Clavulanate Potassium 28.5 mg per dispersible tablet. This combination belongs to the penicillin group of antibiotics and is specially designed for children to treat a wide range of bacterial infections effectively and safely.Amoxycillin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that works by inhibiting the formation of bacterial cell walls, leading to the destruction of bacteria. However, certain bacteria produce an enzyme called beta-lactamase that can inactivate Amoxycillin, making it less effective. To counter this, Clavulanate Potassium is added. It is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that protects Amoxycillin from degradation, thereby enhancing its antibacterial effect, even against resistant bacterial strains.
ADPAX KID D.T is commonly used to treat respiratory tract infections (such as sinusitis, tonsillitis, and bronchitis), ear infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and dental infections in children. The dispersible tablet form ensures ease of administration and better compliance among pediatric patients.
