ADPAX is a powerful antibiotic formulation that combines Amoxycillin and Clavulanic Acid to effectively combat a wide range of bacterial infections. Amoxycillin, a penicillin-type antibiotic, works by inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial cell walls, ultimately leading to the destruction of the bacteria. However, many bacteria produce an enzyme called beta-lactamase that can inactivate amoxycillin, rendering it ineffective.To overcome this resistance, Clavulanic Acid is included as a beta-lactamase inhibitor. It blocks the action of beta-lactamase enzymes, thus protecting Amoxycillin from degradation and allowing it to exert its full antibacterial effect. This synergistic combination makes ADPAX particularly effective against beta-lactamase-producing resistant strains of bacteria.
ADPAX is commonly used to treat infections of the respiratory tract (such as sinusitis, bronchitis, and pneumonia), urinary tract, skin and soft tissues, bones and joints, and dental infections. It provides broad-spectrum coverage, making it suitable for both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.
This combination therapy is generally well tolerated, but like all antibiotics, it should be taken under medical supervision to avoid misuse and antibiotic resistance. Completing the full prescribed course is essential even if symptoms improve early, to ensure complete eradication of the infection and to prevent recurrence.
