ADLOX 500 contains Levofloxacin 500 mg, a broad-spectrum antibiotic belonging to the fluoroquinolone class. It is used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections, including those affecting the respiratory tract (such as bronchitis and pneumonia), urinary tract infections (UTIs), ear, nose, and throat (ENT) infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and some gastrointestinal infections. Levofloxacin works by inhibiting bacterial DNA replication, thereby stopping the growth and killing the bacteria responsible for the infection.This medication usually starts to show improvement in symptoms within a few days of use. However, even if you begin to feel better, it is essential to complete the full course of treatment as prescribed by your doctor. Stopping the medication too early may lead to relapse of the infection or antibiotic resistance, making future infections harder to treat.
ADLOX 500 should be taken as advised by a healthcare provider, ideally at the same time each day. It may be taken with or without food, but adequate hydration should be maintained. Some people may experience mild side effects like nausea, diarrhea, or dizziness. If any severe side effects occur, such as tendon pain or allergic reactions, medical attention should be sought promptly.
